What we repair
An ice maker depends on a steady water supply, a cold freezer and working controls, so a fault can sit in any of them. Most calls come down to a handful of problems, and a technician confirms the fault before any repair.
A closed or frozen water supply, a clogged filter, a failed water inlet valve, an ice maker module fault or a freezer that is too warm can all stop ice production.
Weak water flow, a filter that needs changing or a freezer temperature that is not steady can cause thin, small or stuck-together ice. A technician confirms the cause before any part is replaced.
A loose or damaged water line, a faulty inlet valve, a blocked drain or a unit that is not level can leak or overflow. Turn off the supply if you can do so safely, then call us.
Check the breaker and the outlet first. A dead display or unresponsive controls after a power cut or surge can also be a control fault.
A buzzing, grinding or clicking sound can come from a water inlet valve, a drain pump on an undercounter unit, ice jamming the mechanism or a fan fault.
A code, an alarm or a flashing light points to the system involved. Write it down before you reset anything, so a technician can trace it.
Switch off the ice maker, or turn off its water supply valve, if you can do so safely. Keep water away from outlets and electrical parts, and wipe up water so nobody slips. Then call us and describe where the water is coming from.
Parts
A failed part is often the whole story, but which one depends on the diagnosis. We confirm the fault before recommending a repair.
Sealed-system faults on a built-in unit are a larger decision. See repair or replace below.
Before you call
A few simple checks can rule out the easy causes. Do not remove panels or work on water lines or wiring yourself.
If the ice maker is still not right after these checks, a technician can trace the fault. Call or book online and tell us what the ice maker does.
Repair or replace
Often yes, when the fault is a single part such as a valve, filter, sensor, module or pump. A built-in ice maker is a significant appliance, and replacing it can cost far more than the part.
The answer depends on how old the ice maker is, what has failed and what the repair costs compared with replacing it. Prices vary with the fault and the part, so we do not publish one figure. Our ice maker repair cost guide explains what drives it.
Models
Thermador ice makers come in several forms. If you are not sure which one you have, call us with the model from the data plate and we will confirm we can service it.
How it works
From the first call to a working ice maker, in three steps.

Tell us the model, what the ice maker is doing, any alarm, error code or flashing light and whether it is leaking. A photo of the data plate helps.
Our technician traces the fault, whether it is the water supply, a valve, a filter, a sensor, a module or a control, and explains what is needed.
You get the diagnosis and the repair options, and the repair goes ahead once you agree.
